Electric Motor Service Technician

Description
Elektrim Motors, a subsidiary of Toolmex Industrial Solutions and manufacturer of AC NEMA & Metric IEC electric motors since 1919, has an immediate opening for an Electric Motor Service Technician to join our engineering and quality control department.
Responsibilities
Install, replace, repair and/or modify mechanical or electromechanical motor assemblies, including not limited to: bearings, terminal blocks, lugs, end rings, seals, leads, capacitors, switches, encoders, AEGIS grounding rings, thermal protection sensors, space heaters, end shields, flanges, fans, fan guards, junction boxes, F1/F2 conversions, drilling & tapping etc.
Regularly diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment (3PH & 1PH AC motors and applications), and processes motor inspections with specialized on-site repair and testing equipment.
Inspect motors and assemblies for damage and/or evidence of malfunction, in addition to generating accurate, timely and illustrative inspection reports while interacting with customers.
Prepare motor nameplate data and operate computer-based desktop engraver and/or manual engraver
Maintain inventory of supplies and parts
Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects to perform work duties
Keep work area neat and organized, including providing proper shop tool maintenance, cleaning and/or repair
Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear, including safety goggles/glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, etc.
Assist other technicians or service center personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as director by supervisor
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant electric motor and electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience typically acquired in EASA or motor shop.
High school diploma and electrical-related degree, coursework or vocational school required.
Must be completely proficient with mechanics hand tools, power tools, shop tools and systems including painting and soldering and be able to drive forklift.
Moderate proficiency of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Works well with others and independently
Has keen sense of urgency / time management and is not easily flustered by changing priorities
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
Be able to talk, hear and clearly see 20+ feet with or without corrective lenses, as well as have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Be able to stand 8 hrs. per day, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel and reach with hands and arms in addition to being able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl as needed.
